All kids deserve camp.

That’s why we’re building one that will work for more kids, where their differences will no longer be an obstacle to overcome, but instead designed for & celebrated.

  • Erin Ross, M.Ed., BCBA, LBA

    Senior Program Director
    Camper Behavior & Staff Hiring

Erin Ross is a camp director and consultant from San Diego, California. Erin began her camp career in 2008 while in college and never looked back. After working a few years at YMCA Camp Marston's outdoor education program and two special needs camps - Dragonfly Forest in Pennsylvania and Camp Tall Tree in Michigan - Erin decided to pursue a masters degree in autism and behavior analysis. She is passionate about increasing happiness, independence, and quality of life by bringing typical camp experiences to people who think and learn in different kinds of ways. She took a break from her career in direct therapy so she can enjoy her new role as “Mama”. When she’s not running around at camp or chasing her toddler, you can find Erin consulting and training around the country for camps and youth development programs.

  • Kristin McMaster

    Co-Executive Director
    Family & Camper Support

Kristin “Breezy” McMaster got into special needs camping while attending college in Baltimore, on the eventual quest for medical school. She took a gap year after college, accepting a year round camp job in California at YMCA Camp Marston, and continued spending her summers working at camps with kids on the autism spectrum and kids with medical needs in the Philly area. The gap year became a gap decade, and while she still has no idea what she wants to do with the rest of her life, her time as a director at Camp Tall Tree and Dragonfly Forest has made one thing clear: She is certain that she wants to fill it with people and projects that create fun spaces and cultivate love for all kinds of kids, especially those who think and experience the world differently.

  • Ali Giessner

    Assistant Director

While Ali "Sunny" Giessner only recently stumbled into working with summer camps tailored for those with special needs, it didn't take long for her to realize how much she loved it! After a few years of the corporate grindstone, she set off on a different path towards self-discovery as an artist, primarily working in pottery and woodworking. While art allowed for a creative outlet and freedom, she realized that she longed to be a part of something that focused on lifting others up. It was through this search for volunteering opportunities that she stumbled across Camp Tall Tree and applied to be a camp counselor. Sunny has always had a passion for fun, nature and embracing the unique "inner child" within all of us - but it wasn't until camp that she had been able to combine all of these in one life-changing experience! She is beyond excited to continue assisting in the quest of creating incredible camp experiences for kids of all types!

  • Jack Schott

    Assistant Director

Jack Schott struggles with bureaucracy, loves fun, and secretly stays up late obsessing over businessy stuff. His unique perspectives come from his varied background. An engineer, Jack took the first few years post-college to travel the country visiting over 200 camps in 47 states. Building on what he saw, he co-founded Stomping Ground, a non-profit sleepaway camp inspiring radical empathy and co-founded The Summer Camp Society. In 2022, Jack trained more than 2000 camp staff at 20+ camps.
